I have a bunch of flights coming up and I've reserved not taking my 2015 MacBook Pro due to the battery recall and the FAA seemingly not allowing any of the 2015 models onto a plane. My questions is, has anyone had any trouble with a 2016 MacBook Pro and beyond at airport security? I'd really like to take my 16" with me but if I got to an airport and was told I couldn't fly with it it would present a real problem for me. I'd heard of people having issues with TSA even with the newer models and I'd really rather not have to mail my MacBook Pro back to me as I've had to mail things before from the airport and it takes weeks and weeks to get them back.

Just curious if anyone has had any issues as of late as I haven't seen much reported on it.

I've flow several times in the past few months with a 2018 15" MacBook Pro. Not a peep from security.

What battery recall. Also how the heck would any airline know which Mac I have?

Apple recalled a lot of the 2015 MacBook Pro batteries, and they were banned from air travel by a lot of airlines.

There was a story awhile back about some airlines banning all Macbook Pros.

I would give your airline a call and see what their policy is.

Yeah I remember seeing that too. I will call, my concern is that they will give me an answer on the phone and then I'll run into an issue at the airport.

Thank you very much, good to know.
