I had a similar circumstance a few weeks ago. The chat would be going on and then I would be asked to "hold", only to find the chat ended and a new chat was started with someone else. I had to recount every step that had already been done. And then it happened a AGAIN (a third chat session), also requiring me to start from scratch and re-explain everything. It was as if no one could scroll back and see what had already been explained and looked into. It was right out of the Department of the Redundancy Department....
I finally just called and got it taken care of. The phone support staff was awesome. She said the chat record showed that it had timed out because I hadn't responded in a certain amount of time. But I was waiting on them.... So, yeah – something is sketch with chat support.
