I've had a few apps appear as requiring updates, but it's the current version and it says "OPEN" instead of "UPDATE", as if the system thinks it needs an update but it really doesn't.

This just happened with Apple Store and Yahoo Weather.

WTF?

Yes. I had a (1) badge and went in and they all are already updated.

I have Background App Updates turned off.

I have the same with Apple Store. The icon is still the same also (glossy).

I have had that happen too. Just give it a few minutes and the actual update will show. If you want to see what the new version is go on the apps page itself and it'll have the latest release notes.

Stupid boy,
Sorry, good guess but that's not what's happening. Example, Past 2 weeks "AppStore" icon shows "3", i.e., 3 updates available. Open the "AppStore", all apps up to date. Close out and all clear, few minutes later the "3" is back, open the "AppStore", all is up to date, over and over 30+times over past 2 weeks, phantom update.

Definitely a bug with AppStore. I've had 3 apps showing under "Available Updates" for weeks, but they are up to date and just show "Open". A reboot, closing and reopening the AppStore app, etc do not help.

Hopefully this gets fixed in a future iOS update.
