I’m trying to see how many people out there are considering going from an X to a regular XS. That seems like the upgrade path that is the smallest change, but I’d love to hear different reasons.

My brother just wants my (freshly replaced) X so I have a decision to make. And I love the X form factor but it really doesn’t seem like it’d be an upgrade at all.

I'm having a problem justifying X to Xs Max. So, no I guess. I would probably just buy a used X by this point if it were between that and an Xs.

I am, but mostly because a) I upgrade every year anyway, and b) the X has been the perfect size for me - don't want to go bigger. Didn't have good experiences with 6/6S/7 Pluses. Broke every single one of them.

I am moving from silver to gold, though.

Slightly off topic. I plan to go from X to XS Max. How many of you are doing the same? I would not go from an X to XS however.

Yes. Only because I am on the iPhone upgrade program and the cost is the same. No briainer to get the newest tech for the same price.

S versions have never been for owners of the preceding version.

This year they have the Max, which is the first time there is actually a new phone. But think iPhone 3GS, 4S, 5S. 6S and 8. None of these convinced people to upgrade...

And keep paying for your phone into eternity.
