Where's everyone going?

I'll probably be going to either the sprint store or apple store 30 minutes before open.

Is it a popular store? I would be going earlier than that.

I don't know, It's in the middle of the mall & the only one in town. But i live in New Orleans so that "go 3-4 hours before" **** not happening here lol. I was in that mall For the 3S release at lunch time there was only like 50 people in line.

Not sure if that was preorders or what though.

Yeah but they open at 8am. If you go 30mins before. Expect to be there for atleast min 4/5 hours.

I plan on going 4 hours early. Shouldn't be too bad this year as Apple decided to change policy last min and not let us buy unlocked ones...

They won't have unlocked ones for the first month I believe. The 4S unlocked weren't available for a month.

I'm going there at midnight.

Understood about safety concerns, but 30 minutes early here means I might as well not even bother lol.

Not worried about safety concerns, At all.
I just don't think there will be a ton of people in line here..I think That's only in places like New York, Cali, Chicago, ect......I THINK.

I'll be shocked if i see over 70 people, But then again i never been to an iphone 5 launch.

Just a word of advice, I'd get there AT LEAST 3 hours before they open. If u get there 30 mins before opening, you are going to be in for a shock. And u most likely won't get one because the 200 people in front of u will buy them all. You're taking a big risk if u really want one.

If there were 50 people for 3GS, I'd have to think there would be a ton more for the 5. When I waited in line for the 3G we had about 50 people, and then when I waited for the 4 (five whole days after the phone was released) there were well over 100. Now, with preorders selling out so quickly, there'll probably be more.

Bottom line, a ton of people want this phone. If I hadn't preordered, I'd get there at around 330-4am just like I did for the 3G and 4.

Seeing as how a line already formed at the NY apple store ,you may want to reconsider when you'll start camping

When I went to the store the morning of the 4 launch, there must've been at least 300-400 waiting, maybe more and that was probably around 9-10 am, can't remember exactly.

I live in Tampa, not a terribly huge city and we have 2 Apple Stores. Needless to say, I've been preordering since the 3Gs.

Ok wow, Maybe i should preorder now?
1 question, How do i preorder when i want to transfer my current number?

I'll be breaking my tmobile contract i just signed 4 days ago and need a number to use until i get the preorder

Keep in mind there is probably only 1 Apple store in LA, where is everyone going to go to get an iPhone? Every Apple store in America will be poppin' that day!

Got to one of the three apple stores in Orlando at 10pm the night before the iphone 4 launch and got the last "walk in" phone in the store. There were hundreds if not over a thousand people in line by 30 minutes before. It's not just NY and Chicago.

Time to get real.

If you preorder you wont be getting the phone for another 2 weeks.
