I don't have it, but I think it is a standard fonts for architects (used for captions on models etc.). Maybe you've got friends that are architects...?

Hate to be a prude, but swapping fonts is just as illegal as swapping software. Take your request offline, please.

Thanks,

Wow i had no idea fonts were that serious. i ahd no idea it cost money for fonts. I think that is rediculous. Sounds like M$ work to me.

Nah, it's not. Creating fonts takes a crazy amount of work, and many type creators do it more for the love than the money. So, like software, fonts are licensed to users for a price. And when they're well-crafted typefaces, they're usually not cheap.

My .02 cents. Thanks for listening.

And like software, fonts vary in price from free to expensive, depending on who made it and what it might be used for. Also, many font companies offer some free typefaces as a way to show the quality of their work. And sometimes you can find "knock-off" imitations of high-end fonts with alternate (but often similar) names, and the legality of these fonts may be questionable. In general, though, expect to pay something for fonts you need.

Paying for fonts? That's as crazy as getting charged for receiving a phone call. Which I believe actually happens in the USA

You only pay to recieve telephone calls to your cell/wireless phone. They charge you for airtime.

But back to the fonts, I had a teacher in Middle School who spent $40 on fonts, and never uses them.... sounds like some of us and our software.

Why is that crazy? It takes a lot of time and expertise to create a font. These designers deserve to get paid, without them we'd all still be using Times New Roman ALL THE TIME! Now I scared you didn't I?

considering how ludicrously expensive many fonts are, i'm surprised anyone *has* any fonts besides TNR. Consumers are at the mercy of software bundles that include fonts, otherwise the simplest of font reserves would cost a fortune.

i wish there was some way to implement a per-character fee on things that are for commercial uses, etc... but it would be impractical :(

i do hope you were being tongue-in-cheek. Not only do you lack any authority to ask him to remove his post, but he was not asking for anything illegal or in violation of this site's rules. so i, at least, see the request as rather rude. how did you know that he wasn't trying to track down a point-of-purchase? if i were looking for that, i would probably start by asking if anyone had it too, to see where they got it.

Yeah I think consumers should not have to pay for fonts. (or expensive pro software) But the pros should, just like software. I'm not sure if the topic starter mmmdreg uses it to make money.

1. That rings of a personal request, not one that's seeking a POP reference. And if he WAS requesting it to be 'loaned', so to speak, that's illegal. Period. Nonetheless, I'll defer to you and assume that he had good intentions. Fair enough?
2. You're right, I have no authority at this website. However, as a professional designer who knows a lot about the legality issues surrounding typefaces and the painstaking creation of same, I tend to get fired-up and dismayed at the lack of consumer knowledge about type usage. Not here to pick a fight with you, Paul. Just a little sensitive about this subject. On that note, it's a beautiful day. Think I'll grab some air... a better exercise than scrappin' with the brotherhood at MacRumors. Peace, all.

The Font Snob ;)

if your looking for some cracked fonts check out the room #fonts on EfNEt of IRC.... not really I just made that up, I t makes sense that people spend a lot of time making fonts and shoudl be comepnsated but they seem kind of like icons... i enjoy the ones i have and can get for free i don't need to pay for cool new ones

You obviously have no idea how much labor goes into drawing and then kerning a typeface. In some cases it takes years to do.

I gladly pay for all my type.

Umm.. Okay sorry I asked. I actually didn't know about the whole charging thing thankyou mangoman. But I see where you're coming from now so it's cool. Calm down.

You used that font for design work at an ad company and you don't know about paying for fonts? I must admit that my boss doesn't always pay for fonts as well, or photo's for that matter. Though the BSA trouble from 2 weeks ago kind of changed that. ;) (BIG trouble..)
