Hey.

OS X El Cap isn’t installing because I guess it hasn’t been resigned recently. Forcing the terminal install and changing the date didn’t work. macOS Catalina patcher keeps rebooting to the installer when I try to install macOS.

Does anyone have images of a full macOS install that I can clone to my PCIe OWC SSD?

Apple has it… (?!?!!! 🧐)

This the direct download link which should open in the App Store. Click "Get" in order to begin the download.

When the download finishes, you can follow the instructions if needed on how to make a bookable MacOS installer for Catalina.

I’m talking about an image of an already installed version of macOS that I can clone to my SSD using CCC.

Have you tried change the time back to 5 years ago, and disable the internet until installation finish? Also, have you checked whether the machine is compatible with El Cap (it’s quite old one - mac hardware is not backward compatible).

I use the El Cap installer that Apple provides a link. It's a multi-step process to get the actual installer app, but, in my recent test installs (maybe two weeks ago), El Cap install does not appear to need the "change to an older date" process. Try that download (rather than the one that you get downloading through some patcher software.)
OS X El Capitan

Yeah, just trying to install El Cap on a 2008 Mac Pro.

What on Earth… El Cap always gives me so many issues and I can never install it. All of a sudden, it doesn’t do that weird error and stop the process. Apple must’ve resigned it. It installed though!
