Hello everyone,
I have used apple products for a quite a while now which i love and would never go back to a PC. I study architecture, so i need quite a lot of drawing programmes. I recently ordered over the phone for a 27 inch i5 imac which i received in just 4 days! However it did not come that easy...
I was sent an email saying it would arrive on the 24th....it didn't. After waiting all day, i called the UPS depot where it was 'in transit' and they said it would arrive the next day. The following day, i had to go out to a lecture and typically enough, i came back to find a 'sorry you were out' note. On the note was a squiggle of some sort of code.
I logged onto apple tracking that evening and to my amazement the status was 'delivered and signed' by a 'thomas'. So thinking that my house mate Tom was playing a prank on me i went into his bedroom to find it...it wasn't there and he swore he never took anything. worrying quite a lot, I then phoned UPS up and asked what was going on and they said it had been delivered.... to an immediate neighbour!!! I live in quite a rough area and do not know my 'immediate neighbour'. They then went on to tell me that apple allow them to deliver to immediate neighbours!
I phoned up apple and after a while of 'investigating' they told me that delivering to anyone else is against their rules and regulations, and UPS would be dealt with. I received a half hearted apology from UPS.
Anyway, i figured out the squiggle on the note and it read a41, meaning house 41 which was down my street, 3 houses away! Luckily, the people were nice enough and gave me my £1600 machine.
So to my imac- it is great apart from a few things;
1)it grumbles like a lot of the new seagate hard rives i've been hearing about
2) When using sketch-up it can get very slow and delayed-there is hardly a difference between my macbook pro 2.4.....should this be happening?
Should i phone apple or does sketch-up get slow on most machines?
thanks,
Alex
