I opened up the new iPhone 6 like what I have been doing since iPhone 1 -connect to my macbook with itune open. After restoring from the backup, the ATT activation screen never showed up. of course, the number was never transferred from the old iPhone 5. anyone got any idea?

I tried to swap the sim card from the old phone. AT&T sent me a text that the new deivce needs a new sim card

That's weird because I swapped SIM cards and had no problem. The sim card from my 5s went to my 6. Then my wife's 5 to my 5s and my daughters broken 5 to my wife's 5. I didn't use the new SIM card at all.

Usually the phone # would be transferred to new phone automatically after activating with itune
