There appears to be some sort of smudge or light discoloration under my screen. I didn't even notice it at first. But when I saw it, I thought it was just a smudge from my hands. I wiped it and it's definitely in the glass or underneath. It's not really noticeable at first, but when you hold it at an angle, it's definitely there. Do you think Apple will exchange it for me?

hard to tell. I would take it back and order another. no need for smudges ona brand new device.

yeah if they have stock, take it back. I would take it to an apple store they usually keep an allotted stock for defective phones.

Yep, the plastic protector tab you see is the one covering the back of the phone.
I think I'll stop by an apple store later today and see if the line is gone.
