Hi guys.

I was just wondering if anyone has found an eSata express card for laptops that is snow leopard compatible that isn't super expensive.

I was recommended this one:

http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Other%20World%20Computing/EXP34SATA2P1/

However it does not work. (It may be a bad card but I have no way to figure that out since I have no other macs).

My rosewill cards don't work either because they have the Sil3132 or whatever they are drivers.

I know Sonnets cards work but they are $150+

Does anyone have one that they know works?

Yeah, it's called buy a Toshiba with the integrated eSATA/USB port and hack the computer to run snowleopard.

I picked up a card from ebay for 12$, only been using it for a few hours now, but it's blazing fast and rock solid stability so far.

Link to ebay auction: http://bit.ly/bsuEgz

Product name: New AKE ExpressCard Express To SATA eSATA Card BC338

My Specs:
OSX 10.6.2
15" MBP4,1
C2D 2.5GHz

File transfer test (not scientific, just for my curiosity):

2.4GB .cdr image of Win7 Pro copied from External 7200 RPM drive to local HDD. According to iStat Menus, this is the top speed of each:

25.91 MB/s over USB
62.35 MB/s over eSATA

:D

Warning though - there is another thread somewhere around MR where people reported serious issues with this expresscard, but so far it's been daisies and kittens for me.
