Heya there!

I have a Late 2011 MBP 15" (8,2). The battery cycle count is ~1300, hovering around 80% health now. I'm thinking to get a new battery to replace it and I want to know if any of you have any suggestions on how I should approach doing this.

Thanks for the help!

I recently replaced the battery in my mid-2009 MBP with a battery purchased from iFixit. The battery iFixit sent me was never used and appeared to be OEM, but it was two years old. Since lithium batteries will lose capacity due to age even if never used, I wasn't too happy about this. Make sure the vendor of your replacement battery will offer a refund if necessary. iFixit offered me a refund, but I plan on buying a new MBP in the near future, so I kept the battery. To iFixit's credit, they were very responsive.
