Hello,

One of my family member's unfortunately spilled iced tea all over their 2011 MBA; it won't turn on and is pretty much dead :(

At first I didn't think you could remove Apple's SSDs and do the same thing, but I came across the OWC Envoy.

I was looking into removing the old MBA SSD and putting it into the OWC enclosure so that he still has access to all his data on an external USB drive.

In a similar situation for a dead, original unibody MB, I removed the hard drive and put it in an external HD enclosure so a family member could access the data via USB, so I hope to do the same here.

Was wondering if you any of you guys had experience with this product?

Thanks.

UPDATE

So after messing around with the power button, opening and closing, and plugging in the charger, I was able to get the MBA on. The keyboard and trackpad are dead, but using externals work fine. I think I'm just going to use time machine or super duper to back up all the data to an external hard drive around the house.
