I'm interested in this one, in particular. It's made by some outfit in Hong Kong, but then what isn't these days? The price is right, too (I've also seen Cable Jive's extender cable, but I don't like how fat the cord on it is). The page says it doesn't support "data HotSync," though I'm not sure what that means or if it would affect me.
Basically, my situation is that I had the Peripheral/iSimple PXAMG unit set up in my car to listen to my iPod over my car's stereo system. I recently upgraded to the iPhone 3GS, and while my old Pro Clip mount still works fine (the 3GS's dimensions are similar enough to my old 60gb fifth generation iPod), my 3GS of course didn't stay charged since Apple dropped firewire charging. So I went and bought Peripheral's "ReVolt" cable so I could get in-car charging back. Unfortunately, the company decided to make the plug for the charge conversion cable hugh jazz, and now it's too big to fit in my Pro Clip mount.
So, basically, I'm hoping for a dock extender cable with a plug that fits my Pro Clip and connects to my iPhone and connects on the other end to the revolt cable. I'd have three cables at this point: iPhone -> dock extender cable -> revolt charge conversion cable -> original Peripheral cable -> PXAMG module (and then vehicle harness -> car stereo behind dash -- I hope chaining these cables together won't degrade sound quality or cause any other problems).
Has anyone else attempted a similar kind of setup or solved this problem in any other way? Basically, I'm trying to avoid dropping $60 on a new Pro Clip (I'm already going to have to pay someone to open up my dash and run this new series of cords back there), and Pro Clip doesn't seem to offer as many options to fit different cables for the iPhone as they used to for the iPod.
I can also post pics of my setup, if anyone's interested or if it would help demonstrate what I'm talking about.
(Also, sorry to the other Johnny Quest that seems to be a poster here--I might have to come up with a different username if I stick around :/)
