I have been checking around the internet for a possible release date from Rogers for the iphone. I have not come across anything yet so i am just wondering if anyone on this website has any info on it.

Thanks for the help

Ethan

Considering Canada's extensive wait, I'd say if there were any news, it'd be on the front page.

But so far, there is no news :(.

I know its been killing me. however on the bright side the new 3G phone is comming out soon so i can hopefully get one of those without too much wait.

From what I've read, it seems that the 3G iPhone will have a worldwide release. Therefore, the iPhone should be coming to Canada between tomorrow-july.

The iPhone isn't going to be a worldwide release.... it's just being sold in more countries on specific carriers.

Rogers announced the iPhone would be coming "later this year"

So at least you only have another 6 months of waiting :p

Yeah, I have some info. It's never going to Canada.

I imagine in June, JUST LIKE THE REST OF THE WORLD...

yeah september would be great. the only info rogers has sent out is that it will be comming someime this year (2008)

'comming'... in one post it could be a typo, but two posts.....

*sigh*

What has happened to the Canadian schools since I left? Yikes.

My T Dot friends would love a June release, but I suspect a fall release. I doubt that Rogers can get their sh*t together fast enough for a nation-wide iPhone release in a month. I mean, we are talking about Rogers after all.

they can get their stuff together.. they are owned by AT&T, and they will help in setting up Visual Voicemail servers, they will just copy it and adapt it to work with Rogers..

big deal?

Australias release will be the end of June, i am fairly certain that, as some people have said, it will be a worldwide release
3G will give it that much more versatility....

Who is owned by AT&T? Rogers? Um, No. Rogers is it's own company. It is owned by Ted Rogers and their stock holders.

What are you talking about?

I call 'FAIL' on that post.

Yes, and no. They are not currently owned by AT&T, but a few years ago, AT&T owned 30% of Rogers. But, AT&T eventually sold their shares back to Rogers. I have a phone that has the Rogers logo and the AT&T logo on the bottom of it (it is a VERY old Nokia).

So.... yes. Currently, AT&T does not own Rogers. I don't believe that zainjetha was talking about traveling back in time to when AT&T owned 34% of Rogers Wireless.

From here:
"In the fall of 2004, several strategic transactions were executed that significantly increased Rogers exposure to the potential of the Canadian wireless market. Rogers acquired the 34% of Rogers Wireless owned by AT&T Wireless Services Inc, at an attractive price."
