Sigh! The long-time battle with Adobe+HP+macOS continues.
After upgrading to 15.7 from 15.6.1 we can not longer print documents from Adobe Acrobat (version 2025.001.20643). The document is queued and the printer HP LaserJet Pro M281fwd briefly lights up with "Printing..." in the display but then it all stops and the printer goes back to home-screen. The print queue on the mac is immediately emptied and no errors anywhere.
Same document prints fine from Preview.app but then we can not apply printing profiles or add printer's marks...
All things have been rebooted.

Are these HP-drivers in macOS updateable or is this managed by "magic" and "just works"?

I had a problem in a past update where printing directly from Adobe on my M1 Studio did not work. Initially I would open the file in Preview app and print from there.

After a bit of research, I deleted the (Ethernet JetDirect wired) HP LaserJet 4000 printer driver from the Mac and added it back. Had to do it twice and then my printer began working as expected and continues humming along.
