hey thanks for the link. thats definitely cheaper and the way to go. it looks noticeably thicker then most platforms ive seen. thats why ive considered it.
 
Something that needs to be double checked. The Think Geek page says 21.5" iMac is the limit. The other one says 27" iMac. Are they same? Does either page have the wrong weight?

I noticed that as well. It seems there's a plastic model and an aluminum model. The Think Geek says it's aluminum, but for some reason the weight numbers are off. Color me confused.

that link leads to an awful review. i guess its not deep enough for the imac base really. even though it looks thick i guess there is still a weight issue on top of that. looks like one more platform im going to pass on.
