iPad mini Anyone have this on the back of their mini?

That's just weird! Hard to tell from pics, but it doesn't look like chips, but more like some sort of issue with an applied coating. What a bummer....it has to be a fluke, and your replacement should be fine.
Did you try wetting that area slightly and then attempting to rub it off? Looks like what I had on my mini around the lightning port and it turned out to be some glue/residue that came right off with a little elbow grease
It came Friday and I was so excited to set it up I never turned it over to look at the back. Last night I found this mess. The finish is chipped around these plugs, too. WTH? It's aready packed up and ready to return.
Dude im sorry. Just go to the apple store and get them to swap it out.
It's not glue but some kind of metal..ALmost looks like they filled two holes with metal plugs. Very ugly. Lousy quality control.
Not glue - doesn't come off. If it were glue, getting it off would likely damage the finish so back it goes anyway.
I have a couple of small nicks in the back's finish at the top of the mini. Oddly, I also had an iphone screen protected stuck to the back of the mini over the apple logo.
