anyone having bandwith problems with ichat 3.0 for no aparent reason?

doing what? file transfer or video. more than likely it is your isp that is givening you the bandwidth problem. they may have throttled the bandwidth on a certain port. also regarding file transfer over the AIM network. AIM automatically throttles down any file names that are "dirty",porn related, or "warez" type applications. i.e. rename the files!

i talked to Comcast the other day about video confrencing and ask about any ports or anything that would halter video chats. they just play dumb

i called apple and they said i needed to get rid of virex app. but i never had that ever. So i hoping 10.4.2 will help. I did find it strange that it always work within pittsburgh. alot of good that does i can see those people in a 2 minute drive!!

could be the other end of the conversation as well. most people don't have symmetric bandwidth so their upload is slower than their download.

There are several bugs in the current version of iChat which relate to bandwidth issues.

Rumor has it that they are fixed in 10.4.2, most notably doing audio conferences with folks using Panther.

I really hope this is the case.
