Anyone having issues with 3rd party headphones + picking up additional noise?

I have a Klipsch S4i and I could have sworn I was picking up audio from the noise canceling mic on the phone. It's kind of cool and it kind of wasn't. I liked being able to hear what was going on around me with my noise canceling headphones on, but it isn't that cool when you're trying to make a call.
