Anyone having issues with Fb badge icons in-app on iPhone 6 and/or iOS8?

Verizon iPhone 6 Plus running iOS 8.1.1

Here's what I've been experiencing since I got my 6 back in September...

Someone likes or comments on one of my Facebook posts. I notice a badge notification icon on my Facebook app. I open the app, wait for it to refresh (confirm it's done refreshing), but I don't get the badge notification icon on the "Notifications" button at the bottom until minutes later. It sometimes even requires I exit the app and reopen. Very annoying.

Anyone else experiencing this?
