Got some external dual drive enclosures that are USB 2.0 from here:
http://store.yahoo.com/cooldrives/dudrmialusb2.html
Thing is though when I put drives larger than 120gb in them they don't work. This drives chipset is supposed to support 48bit LBA so I don't get it. Here is what it does.
The drives mount on the desktop. Disk Utility shows the proper size for the drives. Disk utility will even check for errors fine. When I click on the icon on the desktop it opens the drive but when I try to access data after about 5 seconds the Finder hangs with spinning beach ball.
I took the drives out and put them into a different enclosure and they work fine. I reformatted one of them and put it back into the cooldrive enclosure and it did the same thing.
Failed with WD250gb and WD200gb. Failed on my G5 and my powerbook.
Anyone see this before?
