Sorry, I'm abbr. as "iTouch" now. Anyway, no matter what I try, I can't set a photo as wallpaper. I've followed the on-screen instructions, the manual instructions, but no matter what I do, I can't get the image to appear on the main screen.

Ideas? Or am I misinterpreting what the wallpaper means?

Wallpaper is the image that comes up when the screen is locked. Not a background image for the applications list. =)

^^yes. like on the iphone, you can't changed the background of the black background of the main screen without requiring third party hacks. to check that you've been doing it right, though, try locking and unlocking the ipod touch. you'll notice that the background image is the photo you've chosen.
