anyone having trouble with push for gmail

the "push" feature for my gmail account doesnt seem to work. I have to manually refresh once in mail app to get new mail. push is on within settings..
anyone experience this?

There is no push for GMail with the built-in mail app.

The closest to push you will get on iPhone as of current would be using IMAP..even then it will still poll the server every 15 minutes, but at least your mail will be in sync.

The 'push' setting is only applicable to services that push, like Yahoo or MobileMe. Otherwise, the phone will only check for mail at the 'fetch' interval you've set. ie. 15 mins, 1 hour etc.
