Anyone heard about pre-order in the USA?

I know I heard rumors to that effect, but haven't seen anything concrete. Might have something to do with in store activation.
Nothing, it is weird we are less than 2 weeks out with no solid launch time announcement or pre-order information.
Why would you be able to pre-order? I thought it requires in-store activation.

They should allow customers to buy iPhone from att.com/wireless just like they do with every other phone they sell.
I assume that if they don't do this now, they will in the near future. It is fail safe, you purchase online, ATT activates and starts service, then mails phone to you. Don't see any issues with this model.

And when you walk out the people that are waiting in line in front of the store beat the crap out of you.
It's not like they can't make you sign up for a plan on the internet and then mail you the phone.
