I am S O waiting for that announcement as well! The 160GB Intel SSD drives sound lovely, but I just need some more space. It will be interesting to see the pricepoint they will be introduced at though.
Well it makes no real sense to make a 300GB model, but time will tell. Basically you are just adding chips to the blank side of the board, so double the chips and you end up at 320GB.

They likely set the balance asside as part of the unaccessible capacity for wear leveling. As the drives get bigger, the amount set asside will need to increase (it's not linear).
