I applied for a part-time job a few days ago that pays pretty good, and I am wondering if the company is legit. I started to fill out their online paperwork, but it asked for W2 info, direct deposit info, etc, so I want to make sure they are legit. Here's their site link: http://www.marketsource.net/

The job btw is pretty easy... weekends only going to retail stores trying to hawk HP products. Pays 15 an hour, so its not too bad... and apparently you only work at one store and its near my house.

Yeah its legit. With the HP account you'll basically be a printer salesman with the occasional trip into computers or tv's. Its a very easy job. Congrats.

Just what I am in the market for... that way I can get a full or part time day job, and quit that when school starts in the spring. Guess I'll finish that app... thanks for the info. I did the phone interview... she was kinda surprised by my knowledge. If you've done this job or are familar with it... my fear is going to the store (a circuit city) and being confused with a normal employee and being bombarded with questions about products I don't need to sell or people I really need to help... is that a common problem?

I work for BDSMarketing which handles the Canon account. I work in a Best Buy and it can be frustrating. You will definitely get people who will ask you questions about stuff that has nothing to do with HP and after a while I'm sure you'll be asking yourself if your shirt is red. lol. But for most cases you just find a store employee to help them or after awhile when you get acquainted with the store just point them in a helpful direction. If that will be your only store and you'll be in there every weekend the biggest best thing you can do is make friends with the circuit city people. Bring them in candy or something small and not big out of your pocket. Im sure Market Source has some type of goals you'll have to make (if only to not be harassed by your boss) and if you get those guys helping you sell it makes your life easier. I've done this same deal with Canon for 3 years now. Its a easy job to begin with but with the right tips it can be so much easier. If you got anymore questions feel free to ask.

I figured it would be that bad... it was made clear to me that it wasn't a sales position, but I assumed that was a little misleading. Is it just part time work that you do or full time?

I just work part-time, its 20 hours a weekend for me (fri-sun). I could be wrong about your specific responsibilities, Im just relaying what the HP guy in my store has to do. Of course in my store Im competing for sales against HP, Epson, and Lexmark rep. To my knowledge there aren't other printer reps in those stores. I could definitely be wrong there. But maybe its potentially less of a sales job? but more of educating and just making sure people buy your brand.

These are the same a*sholes that have been trying to recruit me since this summer, and they kept calling my cell phone 5 or 6 times a day. I repeatedly told them in no uncertain terms that unless they had a full-time position, with top pay & benefits, not to bother me again. All they were offering was 10-20 hrs a wk @10/hr.... (I have done this type of work before & made ALOT more)

I finally had to resort to legal action to get them to stop calling me!
