You know Apple has released iOS 18.6.1 for iPhone with a workaround for the blood oxigen measure. However, this feature isn’t on the iPad (that I know) and yet, iPadOS 18.6.1 does indeed exist.

People that use iOS 18.6.1 say that their experience is more fluid, snappy and better overall, as well as their iPhone running cooler and more efficiently.

Now, on the iPad side, there’s no OTA update as far as I’m aware, and the only way to install it is using a computer.

Has any of you installed iPadOS 18.6.1? If so, compared to 18.6, is it better? Thank you.

PS: if you want to talk about your experience, please mention the iPad model you installed it in.

I plugged mine up to my MBP and checked for updates in Finder but it said I’m on correct version, 18.6.

There is no "Released" iPadOS 18.6.1. Just iOS. The only purpose of the 18.6.1 IPSW seems to be if someone needs to restore an iOS backup to an iPad, I guess?

Good, if there’s an IPSW available, I’ll use it to restore my iPads using that version. On both my 9th gen iPad and my M2 iPad Pro.

I’ll report the behaviour once done! If I experience any issue I’ll share it here.
