Lets say you had a child that you want to buy a watch for but they don’t have a phone. You want them to be connected but don’t want to buy them a phone just yet.

What if you bought cellular version and you link it to your phone? So parent phone but child watch.

But they couldn’t call you as it’s your number

Either get them a cheap phone or a cheap watch. Not sure why you would want your child to have such an expensive watch but not a phone which could be cheaper than the watch

This isn't a smart choice.
1. Your kid would get all the parent's notifications.
2. The Apple Watch isn't a stand-alone device.
3. It'd be cheaper to buy your kid an iPhone 5s or 6.
4. You couldn't use it to communicate with your kid.

Just buy them an older iPhone or Android phone.

Question then is, do you ever see the watch being a standalone product?
