The reports of adapters in stores are from people who are confusing the adapter with the lightning-to-usb cable.

If "many ppl"=0, then yes, you'd be right. No one has said they've gotten an adapter.

I can only imagine how the connector's going to snap and leaving the connector inside the lightning port
