I LOVE the look of my Space Black S5. I have an iPhone 11 Pro and music is a bit slow to sync with my S5. Will upgrading to S7 bring any benefits with regarding to sync speed? If so, I would like to use the the S7 for the gym and use the SS S5 for casual wear.

Series 6 and above added 5 GHz WiFi. Not sure what protocol the watch/phone use for syncing though.

That's exactly why I asked. Some people on YouTube have said that the inclusion of 5Ghz made it faster to sync music. Just curious if that was the case with people here.

Bump. I'm just using it for the gym, should I get the S7 Aluminum for $330 or SE2?

How much do you like the Always on Display on your Series 5? You'd lose that with the SE.

I'd personally get the S7 for $80 more than the SE. The AOD is pretty useful when working out.

I have Always On turned off for maximum battery life. I mainly use it for storing my workout schedule and music at the gym so I just raise my wrist to show my screen. I have just recently started using Apple Pay & GPay so perhaps more of that in the future. But I don't do any activity tracking or anything else. A larger screen, though, is nice as I can see my workout schedule on Microsoft OneNote.

I’m still with a 4, and don’t see a big reason to upgrade. On the other hand, upgraded my iPhone XR Max to an iPhone 14 Pro Max and it’s a big difference.

I mainly use my watch for time and notifications, and streaming when I’m out doing exercise without the phone.

Guess I’ll hold off on the upgrade another year, I’m sure I’ll get some grief when the bill for the phone comes in anyways.
