As the title suggests, does anyone color grade in Resolve on a top end retina MBP? Looking at replacing my ageing Mac pro with one, but can't afford a new Mac pro at the moment so a MBP will have to do for now?

the top end rMBP (2500-2900 pending on where you get it) is the roughly same price as a base model nMP (2550-3000 pending on where you get it).

Resolve "works" on mine (2.6, 1tb ssd, 750m, 16gb), but it chokes with anything more than 1080 RAW. You really need a fast system with robust graphics to run it smoothly with higher resolution footage

I've used DaVinci Resolve with uncompressed 1080p on a 2013 mba 1.3/4/256 and a 2013 rmbp 2.4/8/256 and it worked fine. The macbooks get so hot that you can fry eggs on them, but other than that it worked.
