Im trying to use it on my iBook g4 12'' 1.33, but it wont load the driver for passive mode..

Anyone have any ideas?

APE card won't load into passive mode. Only the original card.

Seems your out of luck unless you buy a 3rd party PCM WiFi card...Which your iBook doesn't have a slot for... Wait...

I use it. Are you getting any errors? What exactly is happening?

Whats an ape card? I use the built in wireless card

When i select the driver, i choose "airport passive" or something, then when i click "start scan" it asks me for my password (because its trying to load the driver) i enter my password, then it said

"KisMAC has not been able to load the driver (Apple Airport card, passive mode). Reasons for this failure could be:

1. You selecteted the wrong driver.
2. You did not insert your PCMCIA card (only if you selected such a driver).
3. Your kernel extensions screwed up. In this case simply reboot.
4. You are using a 3rd party card and you are having another driver for the card installed, which could not be unloaded by KisMAC. If you have the sourceforge wireless driver, please install the patch, provided with KisMAC."

Im not using a 3rd party card, and i dunno what it means when it says i selected the wrong driver (as i want to use passive mode). And a reboot didnt help

APE = Airport Extreme. From the FAQs on the homepage...

Why is there no passive support for Airport Extreme?

The Airport Extreme cards are based on a Broadcom Airforce (BCM4306) chipset, and there is currently no documentaion for these cards available. We do not think that they will ever release something, but we do not know for sure as they ignore all emails. This is not only a problem for KisMAC but for the whole Open Source Community. If you should have informations regarding an 54g product, please contact mick. You could also sign a petition.

The iBook G4 has an Airport Extreme card. The iBook G3 had an Airport card (with which they do support passive).
