I just purchased a Roku Stick today. The Roku stick shows up on my 2017 Macbook Pro Airplay dropdown menu. But when I select the stick, I keep getting the message "Could not connect to the Roku stick." At the top of my Macbook's screen, if I click on the Airplay icon, I can see that the Airplay keeps looking for my TV, and then it states that the Airplay is off. The Roku stick is supposed to give me a code when I first connect my Macbook to it, but since my Macbook can't connect to it, the Roku stick never displayed a code for me.
My 2021 Macbook Air was able to connect to the Roku Stick within 5 seconds of me selecting it. I wonder if I had turned off some service function on my 2017 Macbook Pro that is now preventing the Apple Airplay from working correctly. Please help anyone!
