I was wondering, if its possible to hook up a macbook pro to a tv that has a native resolution of 1080p, but output the signal at 720p instead, since from what I've read the macbook is an ok machine to do a bit of gaming on, but 1080p is too high of a resolution for modern games. Also, does the macbook output at 60hz?

Also, is anyone using there macbook via bootcamp to stream netflix movies on? How is that working for you? And finally, does anyone use there macbook as a dvd player how good of a dvd player is the macbook?

I can't answer your questions abut streaming netflix movies and all that, but I have, on several occasions hooked up my macbook pro to my TV and/or projector and been able to choose different resolutions. So you should be able to choose a 720p resolution.
