Anyone hooked up speakers from macbook pro via 24" LED?

Am thinking of getting a DAC that takes a USB input and hooking my speakers up to that.

Has anybody had any experience doing this via the 24" LED USB ports? Can't think of a reason why it wouldn't work but...

I'm not keen on having to plug in one extra cable to my macbook pro everytime I 'dock' it. If this isn't a goer - is there any other solutions (know about the 3rd party dock in development for the new uni and the few bluetooth speakers around)?

Well, for iTunes content you can just hook up an airport extreme.

Good idea. Is there anyway to use that setup for non-itunes content too?

I have pandora jam and that can do it.
