Living in the Bay Area of CA, we have had our share of quakes. By the time any software would relay any impending quake, it is already too late. I feel them all the time, minor movement of my easychair or groan of my old manufactured home. Last one of any significance was a 4.5 with the epicenter directly below my bedroom at 3:20 in the morning!! That one got my attention, but was over before I was fully awake. I do use an app that lists all the quakes in our area, or any area that you designate. I lived in Glendale/Pasadena area when the Northridge and Whittier quakes hit with tremendous amount of damage. Our chimney broke off at the roof line. I will never forget that feeling of complete helplessness. It's not just the initial quake, but the aftershocks that follow for hours after. Here is a typical listing on the app. You can see we have had 540 quakes this year!

I was a kid in the Northridge quake - our chimney also broke lol. The weeks of sleeping in the hallways so you could run out the front door quickly as the massive aftershocks hit daily. That set a fear of earthquakes that has lasted to my 40s. lol. Will always remember that.

Always been an observer of the old Caltech site: https://scedc.caltech.edu/recent/ -- Never noticed the earthquake warnings till I got to NorCal a few years ago (was just enough out of LA I guess).

/Wave from just south of you - South San Jose area :p.

What has more power in mother nature ?

Floods or Earthquakes

Hope my fellow NorCal neighbors fared well this morning. We were without power for awhile from 3am-7am - had some pretty damaging winds - blew down some trees. There's a tree laying on the side of our apartment (didn't do any damage, lucky for the complex).

Looks like we got another round of this late tonight.
