And some people are so proud buying $900 of a mere 768GB SSD which not even 2.5" form factor.

Means it will be expensive when you're out of warranty and doesn't mean the part is available, just because it's proprietary blade and the connector be changed at anytime rather than using universal SATA.

Sooner or later, this SSD will be inside my iMac. Possibly not from Apple :)

I just found one at MacMall in Torrance. They have one left. I'm going to back up and install it on a 2011 17" Macbook Pro. It's replacing a 750 gb, 7200 RPM HDD. I've been waiting for a drive this size with a decent price tag. I'm excited!

Anyone know who has the Crucial 960GB in stock?

I would sign up for notifications at places like newegg, amazon, etc. It seems that a few trickle in and they sell quickly. I checked macmall in the morning and they didn't have any. Later I saw an email from macmall on something else and decided to look again. One of their stores all of a sudden had a stock of 2. I called, it was there, i picked it up an hour later.

So far this is a great drive for my 2011 17" Macbook Pro. I upgraded to 16 GB 1600 MHz ram a few months ago. That had a noticeable impact on speed. Now with this SSD, everything is just screaming.

Is this able to be installed internally in place of the hard drive on the 2012 iMac 21.5" model or does it have to be run externally?
