Has anyone purchased the 500GB Western Digital internal hard drive and installed it in their MacBook Pro? I purchased the Samsung spinpoint M6 500GB last week and it's a bit on the noisy side. You can hear little clicking noises constantly...a lot more so than my stock Hitachi 200GB. I'm wondering if the Western Digital one is quiet or if it has the same clicking noises constantly. Thanks in advance.

Interesting, I just put in the Samsung on my MBP and don't hear a thing. Perhaps you had a dodgy one?

My Samsung 500 GB drive from NewEgg just arrived today. Used WinClone and SuperDuper to move onto the drive. All is well and up running. Don't hear any drive noise (in normal room background). OBW this is on my new 15" MBP.

Macbook aluminum here

Same here. I have a new aluminum piece and upgraded to a 500GB WD. Sometimes, it clicks. Just clicks. Very rarely, it makes a high pitch sound. Anyone knows what to do?
