Umm, the NES emulator is out for it on Cydia. But other than that, like the others said, not much reason to do it for me. I don't need to unlock, and I'd like NES, but don't care much. I would do it if summerboard had been ported though.

I jailbroke my 3G to change the dock background and a few icons. Pretty much any of the apps I need are available on the App Store.

It's far from pointless, but I'd agree that, for most people, jailbreaking probably isn't going to be high on the priority list now.

Remember, unlocking is different from jailbreaking.

pointless then.

Um not quite... there's Cydia you can ssh into your phone and therefor change a whole slew of things you can't unless you jailbreak. I have my custom new "*" sounds (SMS, mail, voicemail) along with my custom carrier graphic. In addition you can change your Dock and many other core components... so I'd say worthwhile, not pointless.. ;)

I'm not really interested in jailbreaking my iPhone. With the app store, I really don't see a use for it personally.

I would like to change my dock background from the standard black - how did you do it using 2.0?

doesn't seem worth it...yet

once customize, and other apps are released for 2.0 then it will be something to do, but for now, i think ill wait.

Think anyone will ever make a legit customize option and offer it through the App Store? I wonder if Apple would be against a program like this - but I see no reason why we shouldnt be able to customize our phones - thats part of the fun.

I don't know why they haven't allowed it but I know if apple did allow this, their would be a lot less jail broken phones.

i jailbroke my 3g earlier this week, i wouldnt say its pointless, i've got certain games which you have to pay for from the app store, onto my iphone for free.
basically, i dont see why you wouldnt want to jailbreak? it doesnt make your iphone worse. it only adds features and apps which can access parts of the phone which the sdk doesnt allow..
