Installer doesn't work yet. There are NO jailbroken apps. The only reason to jailbreak right now is to unlock.
one came out today
http://www.engadget.com/2008/07/24/windows-iphone-3g-jailbreak-tool-released/
it doesn't work?
pointless then.
Unless you don't use AT&T. Or have any service, like me, and only use it as everything but the phone.
no contract?
pointless then.
I jailbroke my 3G to change the dock background and a few icons. Pretty much any of the apps I need are available on the App Store.
It's far from pointless, but I'd agree that, for most people, jailbreaking probably isn't going to be high on the priority list now.
Remember, unlocking is different from jailbreaking.
I would like to change my dock background from the standard black - how did you do it using 2.0?
You can't yet; Customize doesn't work in 2.0.
I don't know why they haven't allowed it but I know if apple did allow this, their would be a lot less jail broken phones.Think anyone will ever make a legit customize option and offer it through the App Store? I wonder if Apple would be against a program like this - but I see no reason why we shouldnt be able to customize our phones - thats part of the fun.
