I'm curious how many people have paid the $99 for the developer program just to gain early access to the iOS beta software. If you have, do you regret it at all?

I can't imagine why someone would drop $99 with no intentions of developing or even bug hunting when it's so easy to find a dev willing to add you to their account (each dev has 100 slots to give away).

That is an idea which only and idiot would have (forgive me saying but it's true).

If you have money to spend go ahead, if not it's idiotic :)

idiotic because its easy to get free access from an existing developer? (safely)

or because its idiotic to use the beta at all?

I know that during the time that iOS5 beta released, a bunch of people on here forked up the $99 bucks just to have it.

Immediately you were able to tell by the number of threads that popped up regarding problems with the beta.......(well duh, it is BETA for a reason) smh.

When you know a developer who will provide you with the beta it's one thing, but when you pay $99 just to get the beta its just nonsense.

Also, I wouldn't want to use a beta OS on my daily phone.
