Anyone know anything about these Macadam discs?

Hi all - found some interesting discs in storage recently, and was wondering A. if they're worth anything, and B. if they are safe to insert into older Macs I care about?

All I can find online is articles like this https://appleinsider.com/articles/05/01/31/long_time_apple_reseller_closes_its_doors and a couple threads on here, but nothing about these discs.

Looking at the information on the CD labels....
Nothing there as new as OS 9 -- 3 of the CDs appear to be Mac OS updates, and 2 CDs are utilities of some kind.
7.6.1 version is from before any iMacs, which first appeared with Mac OS 8.1, I believe.
The utilities might be somewhat useful with beige PowerMacs, and maybe with oldest iMacs, and other Macs released before OS 9.
The CDs were probably handed out for free by that now defunct store, with a new Mac.

If the discs use HFS standard (not extended/HFS+) that’s probably why Monterey won’t read them.
HFS standard support was dropped in 10.15 Catalina.

Interesting, thanks! I’ll go grab them out of the trash. Explains the OS 8 disc, too.

If you were just going to throw them in the trash, I’m sure someone would be willing to pay postage for them.

They may not contain anything interesting but the discs themselves I find interesting.

Good point - I'll list them on the Marketplace for just the cost of postage. Someone's bound to be interested
