Anyone know how return works, if you have old iPhone?

Today I for some reason bought an iPhone 3G.

It looks pretty nice, but I'm scared of the cracking.

I came from a 16 GB original phone.

If I returned it, I wonder what would happen with my AT&T account? Would all go back to normal, or?

Anyone have experience with this? Thanks.
