Hi,

I've been using my WD "My Book" 500GB external hard drive with no problems up until tonight to transfer files between my MBP and PC. Suddenly, the MBP can't write files to it anymore. It's not the files themselves since I've successfully copied files from the external drive to the MBP, yet can't copy them back again. I *can* do this with no problem from my WinXP PC. I'm using the same cables, same files. The MBP just keeps crapping out with that Error 36 message.

I wonder if Mac's can't handle writing files past a certain size limit to a FAT32 drive? I seem to have gone just over the 300GB limit, with 'only' 200 GB remaining free space. Has anyone else noticed this.

I've read around and the dreaded Error 36 seems to be quite mysterious.

Has anybody managed to fix this?

Thanks,

Alex
