I promised myself that in order to pay for my new MacBook Air I would quit smoking. Does anyone out there know of a Quit Smoking Calculator that will run on OS X?

Thanks Jolly Jimmy. Downloaded OK but sadly doesn't work!! No way to input date of quitting. The thing's inert, bless it. Maybe it's me and/or my machine but, again, I'm grateful.

quitnet.com has a tracker to calculate how many cigarettes you would have smoked and how much money you have saved.

My gf quit smoking 2 years ago, and the results are eye-opening.

Alternatively, you can start ordering online.

Where do you live? Some places, the tax is more than 200% the price of the actual cigarette pack. Ordering online you'll spend probably half--maybe even a quarter, if you live somewhere with high tax--of what you would pay otherwise. This site is pretty good.

I know, I'm going to hell. What can I say? I'm a little devil.

I buy from there at €12 for a carton of Marlboro you can keep smoking and get the MB Air

Alternatively, you can just download any countdown-widget(from here, for example). As far as I know, they count up as well.

It works fine for me. Look for the " i " symbol like in other widgets to flip it over. It's on the bottom right.

why would you want to quit?

smoking makes you look much cooler than walking around with a MB air.

I could never comprehend how slowly killing yourself by breathing in deadly chemicals made you look cool. I think it makes you look like a douchebag, personally.

Let's hope that after nearly 5 years our buddy has quit and bought his new MB Air.

Packs per day * price per pack * 365 = savings per year.

There now you can skip hunting down a calculator.
