I found a complete and working Apple IIc with original monitor and stand, mouse, 2 disk drives and all the cables. I really loved these when I was a kid in middle school. The condition is pretty good except for the top cover of the main IIc unit. It has a cracked vent fin on top. I am looking to replace that with a near perfect top cover since the machine works fine. I want to restore this and keep it around for nostalgia. Does anyone know of a site that is like an Apple boneyard that sells chassis parts? At this point I'd buy a whole non working IIc just for the top cover. Probably safer to ship that way. Thanks for any help.

Original service part number 612-5029 (Case IIc Top). For what it's worth - google hardly gives any result for that part.

I'd be keeping an eye out anywhere for a working or not machine. Usual places, ebay, CL etc. If you have a local computer recycling depot, it may be worth a look.

I actually found the IIc at the e-recyclers but their last day was Friday sadly. I've been going there a few years. I snagged the last machines they had in the building including a SuperMicro dual X5355 Xeon server with 64G of DDR2 ECC ram and 8 hot swap bays. It seemed remarkably close in hardware spec to a Mac Pro so worst case I can definitely use the chips in one of my 1,1s. But the grab of the day was the Apple IIc. My eyes lit up when I saw it. 80's tech was rare to see there. So naturally it became mine. So now I am looking for a non working IIc with a good uncracked case. I would love to get this looking like new again and I feel it is my duty. It's the cutest damn thing I've ever seen. :^) I always wanted one when I first used this exact model in elementary school. And the IIe as well.
