Anyone know of an app similar to Android News Widget?

I've downloaded a bunch of stuff but nothing seems to be as quick and easy to use as the stock Android news widget. Something where I open the app and there's a clear list of articles, no useless photos, swipe left/right for different categories. Does such a thing exist? I've tried flipboard, google news, pulse, none of them do the trick. The android widget also has excellent curation
