In the red box. Does anyone know what this is ? How to get rid of it ? Thank you. I would look it up but I dont even know what this thing is called. Thank you for any help.

It's part of Safari 18. It's the revamped icon to access Reader Mode etc.

Same goes for iOS / iPadOS 18. Previously it was the [AA] icon.
I'm not on macOS Sequoia yet so I don't know if you can hide the icon - besides using a completely different browser.

I know we can Shift-Command-D to add to the Reading List, so I would think there is a keyboard shortcut for adding to Favorites.. I just can’t remember what it is.

At least in Safari 14 it's fn+Command+D.

Yeah, I knew there had to be a keyboard shortcut for it. One of the things I truly love about macOS is its extensive use of keyboard shortcuts.
