Hi,
Anyone know what will be the max Memory in the next Powermac (Mac Pro?)?
The current is 16 MB.
Will it be the same or will it be lower or higher?
Thanks.

It will not go less then 8 GB. I don't think they would go higher then 16 GB. My guess would be 16 GB.

I would say 16Gb. That seems consitent with prosumer pricing and availability.

With the desktop chipset 8GB for their 2 DIMMs, the Server/Workstation chipset should be able to handle 64GB -- however, expect Apple to only use 8 DIMMs in the Mac Pro limiting you to 32GB with 4GB DIMMs (aka, 16GB in Apple speak using the available 2GB DIMMs.)

Well, its probably going to be 64bit so I'd say (if memory serves) arounf 16 exabytes :p ! But realistically, I cant see it going above 16GB.

Professional consumer. You're a high paying consumer but you're not making your entire living off of the Mac you're buying.
So geeks like us who like playing with photoshop and don't want to wait for it to do anything! :p
