anyone know why iphoto5 is sucking wind

I just upgraded to ilife with iphoto5 today and it is constantly loading and spinning that wheel. Takes forever to scroll through the pics. If I change to calendar view and then back to library, boom slow as heck again. I have only 800 pics. They are from a high rez cam but I think it's something else. many of the thumbnails are not loading as well. Strange

Have you repaired permissions after the upgrade...? If not, that's one of the best tips...

I did repair but no change. I think I fixed it though. It seems that there were about 1 in every 30 pics that wouldn't show a thumbnail. I went and dragged each one to the desktop, then deleted the blank thumb, then put the pic back in. It took about an hour but is running fine now. So if anyone gets it, there ya go. What a pain!
